Shaeron Caton Rose is a current social engaged artist working across Yorkshire and still exhibiting today. She studied printmaking at Sheffield City Polytechnic in 1986 before obtaining a MA in Fine Art from Humberside University in 1995.
Shaeron lived in Bradford between 1996 and 2009 and exhibited her work throughout the city. Although now living in Knaresborough, she is still involved in a variety of artist-led initiatives and socially engaged projects in the district. Recent projects in Bradford include ‘No Limits’ (2010): working with people with early onset dementia’; ‘Round Table’ (2012): an embroidery and permaculture project on the Canterbury Estate; and ‘Flock’ (2016): a community collaborative artwork in West Bowling.
Shaeron Caton Rose is a In 2021 she set up ReCreate with fellow artist Linda Baines, offering art and spiritual wellbeing sessions and retreats to those in areas of urban deprivation. They are currently working with Shine West Bowling Bradford. Shaeron also works as Printmaking Workshop Leader at Henshaws Arts &Crafts Centre Knaresborough where she has developed an outreach programme promoting professional development for differently able artists. Shaeron also has her own artistic practice and is currently working with Shieldfield Artworks to create ‘Playing Out’, a community led exhibition for September 2024. In her book ‘Soul Art’ Shaeron aims to offer some of her years of experience of socially and spiritually engaged practice as a resource so that anyone can feel confident to offer this to anyone anywhere.
