10CT Gold Plate Waltham Traveller Pocket Watch -1913
It is in full working condition and would make a beautiful gift; as classy today as it was 111 years ago when made.
The pocket watch movement was made by Waltham, USA for the English market. It was sent to England where it was cased and sold in a top quality Dennison case.
Movement – the ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and is signed “American Waltham, USA, Traveller” # 19328724 The movement is in good condition – some light marks
Case – the movement comes in a gold plated Hunter case by Dennison. Marked ALD MOON representing inside and outside layers of 10 carat gold plate filled or rolled rather than electroplated gold. Serial number 507747.
The case was made in the UK for the Waltham UK office and ALD was the initials of the founder who certified the grade of the gold - an arrangement agreed with the Birmingham Assay Office.
The case has a hinged inner, back and front cover. The front cover pops crisply open to 90 degrees when you press the winder in. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in great condition.
Dial – the white enamel dial has a pair of gilt hands and a blue steel sub seconds hand. It is signed “Waltham” and is in 100% mint condition
The watch has a mineral glass
The watch measures 51mm wide x 13mm deep
